The Lagos State Government, in continuation of strategies to ensure that Enrollees on the ILERA EKO health insurance plan have quality healthcare services, has begun visitation to its health providers.
The General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, spoke during visits to County Hospital and Blue Cross Hospital, in Ogba, saying that because quality is a non-negotiable factor in the sustainability of the scheme, the Agency visited to ensure that quality service is offered to all Enrollees.
Dr. Zamba added that the visit was important to ensure that ILERA EKO Enrollees are treated politely and courteously as well as to ensure that they enjoy all the outlined benefits under the scheme.
She restated that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, places a high priority on the good health of residents and is determined to ensure that Lagosians have good value for the premium paid on their health insurance.
While commending both hospitals for a job well done after the inspection of their facilities and observing customers’ experience, the General Manager urged them not to relent in their efforts in providing medical treatment in line with international standards not only to ILERA EKO Enrollees but also to other Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs) and their private patients.
In her words: “We have seen the facilities, observed customers’ experience, we have seen the services offered and we are satisfied with the various innovations put in place to provide quick and better healthcare to our Enrollees. We encourage you to keep up the good job”.
Dr. Zamba urged other health providers on the scheme to emulate the facilities and ensure that prompt and adequate medical services are given to the Enrollees whose only focus while at the hospital is to get well immediately.
She said that the government would continue to provide the basic support to ensure optimal service delivery at the various ILERA EKO health providers.
The General Manager noted that LASHMA will continue the visitation to both the public and private health facilities under ILERA EKO, appealing to other health providers that are not yet on the scheme to immediately come on board and collaborate with the Lagos State Government to be part of the success story.
Responding, the Chairman of County Hospital, Mr. Michael Craig, accompanied by the Medical Director, Dr. Amos Azun, commended the Lagos State Government for embarking on the laudable programme, ILERA EKO, which is aimed at reducing out of pocket payments for medical expenses.
He promised that the hospital, founded in 1976 by his father, Dr. Alexander Babasanya Craig, would continue to render the best services to ILERA EKO Enrollees and other residents of the State.
The Chairman said that the hospital since its existence has invested a lot in infrastructure to render adequate services to all kinds of patients.
